Joining NANRO Next as a mentor, Chef Jung Ji-Sun began her career at the noodle station of the Chinese restaurant inside The Palace Hotel Gangnam, then worked the dim sum and dessert side at the Plaza Hotel's Chinese restaurant Doyeon, learning the grammar of classical Cantonese cooking hands-on. In 2020 she opened Tian Mi Mi in Seoul's Seochon; the following year the restaurant was named "Notable New Restaurant" by Blue Ribbon Survey, and it has since expanded to Hongdae and Gangnam, earning her the affectionate title "Queen of Dim Sum."
She has long believed that only those who go deep into a tradition can open the next chapter of it in their own generation. It is in that spirit that she joined NANRO Next as a mentor — to share that journey with younger chefs who are only beginning to shape their own voice.
