Chef Joshua Pinsky, Chef & Co-Owner of Claud & Penny — profile portrait

Joining the NANRO USA Fellowship, Chef Joshua Pinsky spent part of his childhood in Korea, close to the kitchen of his chef father. He cooked in San Francisco before moving to New York in 2012 and joining Momofuku Ko, where he spent ten years and rose to sous chef. In 2022 he opened Claud in downtown Manhattan with Chase Sinzer, followed by its sister restaurant Penny — both earning three-star reviews from The New York Times and inclusion in the MICHELIN Guide, with Joshua as chef and co-owner.

His voice is a quiet one — precision over spectacle, work made to matter more than to dazzle. It is with that voice that he returns to Korea, the country of a piece of his own childhood, as a NANRO USA Fellow.
